In 1986 Michael Beckwith, a nonalignet, trans-religious progressive founded the Agape 

International Spiritual Center whose membership counts 10,000 locally and hundreds

of thousands of friends and affiliates worldwide. He serves on international panels with

spiritual luminaries such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dr. A. T. Ariyaratne, founder

of Sarvodaya, and Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mohandas K. Gandhi. He is co-founder of

the Association for Global New Thought whose annual conference brings together.
